Mr. Burton was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. After attending the University of Alabama from 1980 to 1982, where he was a member of the nationally ranked men’s intercollegiate swimming team, Mr. Burton graduated from the University of Washington in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and a minor in English. He attended law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he graduated in 1989 and was a published legislative review analyst for the Pacific Law Journal.
As a member of Mower, Carreon & Desai, LLP, and throughout his career practicing in California and Washington, Mr. Burton has successfully litigated a large volume of cases in the areas of insurance coverage and bad faith, personal injury, professional malpractice, governmental tort liability, federal civil rights claims, and consumer class and collective actions involving unfair business practices and employment related claims. Mr. Burton is licensed to practice before all state courts in California and Washington, the U.S. District Courts for the Central District of California and Western District of Washington, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Washington State Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and Consumer Attorneys of California.
